Chlitina Receives Three ESG and Philanthropy Awards at the 15th China Charity Festival

Taipei, 20 March 2026

From January 22 to 23, 2026, the 15th China Charity Festival and 2025 ESG Impact Annual Conference were held in Beijing. At this year’s event, the Chlitina Group received three major awards: the “2025 ESG Model Enterprise Award,” the “2025 Outstanding Philanthropic Project Award,” and the “2025 Philanthropist of the Year Award.”

These recognitions not only affirm the Group’s philanthropic efforts over the past year, but also acknowledge more than a decade of building a systematic and sustainable social responsibility framework.

17 years of Lighting the Way—The Dedication and Persistence behind the Three Awards

This year’s Charity Festival, themed “A New Chapter of Shared Benefit,” aimed to review the development of philanthropy in China and to pay tribute to exemplary forces that have demonstrated long-term commitment and created social value.

Seventeen years into its philanthropic journey, the three major awards received this time by the Chlitina Group recognize its sustained efforts in the field of social responsibility across three dimensions: corporate governance, individual leadership, and project innovation.

Previously, at the 14th Charity Festival in 2024, Chlitina had already been awarded the “Annual ESG Model Enterprise Award” and the “Philanthropist of the Year Award.” This renewed recognition, together with the addition of a project-level award, marks that its philanthropic practices have entered a more mature and more widely recognized stage.

Behind the “ESG Model Enterprise Award,” a Strategic ESG Integration

The “2025 ESG Model Enterprise Award” reflects the Chlitina Group’s systematic integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its corporate strategy and day-to-day operations.

At the Environmental level, the Group embeds green principles across the entire product lifecycle—from promoting eco-friendly packaging and material weight reduction to continuously reducing energy consumption and emissions throughout the supply chain, taking tangible actions to address climate change.

At the Social level, the Group’s approach extends beyond traditional charitable donations. Centered on its “Light Up Philanthropy” platform, it has developed a five-pillar framework covering education, assistance, environmental protection, culture, and community, forming a multidimensional system for social value creation.

At the Governance level, the Group regards talent as the cornerstone of sustainable development. Through comprehensive employee benefits, a structured talent development system, and ongoing professional training, the Chlitina Group has established a solid foundation for long-term growth.

The Sustained Commitment behind the “Philanthropist of the Year Award”

Ms. Su Yushan, Director General of the Group’s Philanthropy Department, received the “2025 Philanthropist of the Year Award.” This honor represents strong recognition of the personal influence and long-term dedication of those who advance philanthropic initiatives.

Under the leadership of Ms. Su Yushan, the Chlitina Group’s philanthropic efforts have evolved from the “Light Up Initiative” into the “Light Up Philanthropy”, with a clear strategic direction. She upholds the principle of “practicing philanthropy sincerely at all times and in all places.” Even in times of operational pressure, investment in philanthropy has not been reduced.

This clear-minded understanding—internalizing philanthropy into the organization’s cultural DNA—has enabled the Chlitina Group’s philanthropic actions to continuously create social value.

From Vision to System: the “Light Up Reading” Initiative Illuminating the Future in Rural Communities

“May every light around us shine like a lamp to illuminate others.” Seventeen years ago, Dr. Joanna Pi-Hua Chen, Chairperson of the Group, initiated the “Light Up Initiative” with this vision, laying the foundation for today’s award-winning “Light Up Reading” program.

What began as a simple aspiration has developed into a structured and replicable rural education solution. Moving beyond short-term donations, the program adopts an innovative “two years in a county” deep engagement model, with a core focus on cultivating local “seed teachers.”

Distinct from conventional reading programs, it introduces an expanded “Big Reading” curriculum that integrates drama, arts, and sexual education, guiding students through project-based learning to “read nature, read reality, and read the world,” while building self-protection awareness.

In 2025, the program achieved measurable outcomes in Yuexi County, Anhui Province: 50 seed teachers were trained, 141 specialized courses were delivered, and 6,686 students directly benefited. Over the past seventeen years, the initiative has reached 18 provinces, trained more than 10,000 teachers, and benefited over 300,000 students.

A Well-Structured Philanthropy Framework Building a Comprehensive Value Ecosystem

Behind the three awards received this year lies a solid philanthropic framework, structured under the “Light Up Philanthropy.”

The “Light Up Relief” segment demonstrates the Group’s responsiveness and sense of responsibility. In the face of major natural disasters in regions such as Tibet and the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei area, the Group consistently acts promptly, coordinating with professional organizations to provide donations and supplies, delivering support to the most urgently affected areas.

The “Light Up Environmental Protection” segment translates green commitments into everyday actions in which consumers can participate. Since the launch of the “Empty Bottle Recycling” program in 2022, nearly 37 tons of containers had been collected by the end of 2025, equivalent to approximately reducing carbon emissions by 90 tons.

The “Light Up Humanities” segment focuses on empowering women and preserving cultural heritage. By supporting the “Talented Mothers—Zhuang Brocade Dream Workshop,” the Chlitina Group contributes to the preservation of intangible cultural heritage crafts, while providing rural women with skills training and employment support, enabling traditional culture to be revitalized in modern contexts.

The “Light Up Community” segment is dedicated to fostering warm and connected neighborhood relationships. Through localized activities such as elderly care initiatives, parent-child events, and health seminars conducted at CHLITINA stores nationwide, philanthropy is integrated into everyday community life, positioning CHLITINA stores as welcoming community touchpoints.

From “Commercial Success” to the Conscious Pursuit of “Social Value”

Receiving major awards at the Charity Festival in consecutive years represents both recognition and impetus for the Chlitina Group. It reinforces a core belief: an organization focused solely on profit and growth may sustain itself, but is unlikely to earn lasting respect or be remembered.

True vitality lies in maintaining the awareness and capability to “look downward, toward the margins, and toward the voiceless” even while advancing forward. The Chlitina Group’s practice shows that corporate social responsibility and business development are not mutually exclusive; rather, they can reinforce one another.

Philanthropic engagement shapes a distinct brand warmth and deepens emotional connections with employees, consumers, and communities—an attribute that has become an integral component of the company’s long-term competitiveness.
